Introduction
Access to our public servers is free for everyone. However if you choose to break our rules then we can choose to ban you, either temporarily or permanently. Ignorance of these rules is not an acceptable reason for breaking them.
Please note we apply bans against GUID, which is a unique code derived from your CD key. Our bans are not based on your IP address or name, both of which can be easily changed.
As our bans are applied against GUID we don\'t differentiate between players using the same CD key. If it\'s your CD key you\'re responsible for how it\'s used, regardless of whether it was actually you playing at the time.
Alright with that said lets get started. There are a few stipulations that you will need to follow in order to play on our servers. They are the most basic and no-brainer rules out there, but some still seem to forget. In their interest as well as yours, we will repeat the rules here, and only hope that you will learn them.
Cheating & Game Exploits
We enforce a zero tolerance policy when it comes to cheating. If our checks find cheat programs, associated files or settings. You will be removed from the server. We understand some players use these programs in non regulated Punk Buster servers. We frown upon this practice and the use of cheat and hack programs. You will be banned, it doesn\'t matter if you claim you were not using them at the time.
Please note that our servers all stream to Punksbusted.com, with all our cheat violations being streamed directly to their repository for inclusion on their Master Ban List. This master ban list is then enforced across all our public servers. It is also shared with over 5000 game servers who participate in a community wide anti cheat program.
Particular game exploits are not permitted on our servers. If you are found using these you will be kicked or banned! Exploiting areas that allow you to get under or outside a map is not permitted. If non-textured or invisible surfaces are used to get to the location, it is illegal. If a grenade is used to get to the location, it is illegal. If a texture is unfinished (boarded window that you can go through), it is illegal. If you spawn with no weapons and found to be in a continuous sprint you will be removed.
If you feel someone might be cheating please make a member of ¤VM¤ aware of the situation. Email information such as demos, time of incident and player in question to webmaster@virtualmercs.com and the Admins will take it from there.
If you accuse someone of cheating, you must make a valid argument or you will find yourself being kicked from the server. Just because someone is a good player, does not mean they are cheating. However, the Admins are all ears and need your cooperation to prosecute any cheaters on the server.
Who is a Server Admin?
The Server Admins are any member of VirtualMercs wearing the ¤VM¤ Tag! Please have the up most respect for these people. If an admin is addressing you, you are expected to respond in the appropriate manner. Please follow any directions given by an admin swiftly. Obey your admins! What they say is the law! We really hate to repeat ourselves as well as deal with stupid people. So do not get yourself into a situation where we are forced to make a decision about your status and future on the server. The Admins are not lawless to roam free as tyrants on the server. If you feel you have been treated unfairly by an Admin please email the webmaster@virtualmercs.com and we will review your case.
Recruitment & Advertisement
NO RECRUITING or ADVERTISING- Players are not permitted to recruit for their clans, server, mods, or websites on our servers. We are a public community and if you are caught recruiting or advertising for your clan or group on our servers you will be kicked and possibly banned. This includes any and all names containing web addresses.
Code of Conduct
Each and every area of a map is considered a kill zone, including spawn areas. SPAWN KILLING IS NOT A CRIME! But if you are found to be abusing a situation and affecting the overall enjoyment of the server you will be removed. If you are under attack in your spawn, find your way out of it. We do not want to hear players whine about this, this can work in favor and/or against each team. Spawn killing is permitted. There is no such thing as camping on our servers. But as mentioned above, if your actions are affecting the overall enjoyment of the game for the group. You will be removed. This is Capture The Flag, not Camp The Flag! If someone is hiding around corners killing you or doing something you consider camping, then quit walking into their trap like a dumbass and find another way to return the favor. We make the rules, if you don\'t like the tactics people employ then stop complaining and find another server that will meet your sensitive needs.
Do mot block doorways, windows or tunnels from exit. If found doing so you may be removed. If playing Capture the Flag do not block or impede the flag carrier in anyway. Doing so will result in you being removed.
Do not complain about the use of certain weapons like sniper rifles, SMGs, etc. If you\'ve been sniped 10 times in a row, quit going that way, flank the sniper and bash their skull in, or grab a sniper rifle yourself and learn to use it. The server has restrictions on certain weapons (sniper rifles are limited to 2 per team).
Admins will not tolerate the excessive use of in game taunts. Consistently using taunts is annoying and we will not tolerate it. We have and will kick players for be annoying. Look the world has enough stupid people in it. Please do not add yourself to the list of world renowned idiots.
Any and all gripes must be conducted in the forums. Players are on the server to play, not read.
Respect all other players on the server. We do not tolerate any racist behaviour or religious intolerance. If you have been found to have breached this rule it will result in you being permanently banned from all our servers.
We are an adult clan running adult servers. This means we are rated "R". If you can not handle adult language or adult topics then you might be better suited to find another server. We do not regulate the language or demeanor of players. There is a breaking point with every situation. It is hard to define this line, so use your best judgement and use common sense. We are not responsible for minors or what they may encounter on our servers. We are not here to raise your children, that is your job.
If you are seen being offensive to other players or Admins you will be kicked or banned from our servers, players do not connect to our servers to receive abuse from you, they connect to play the game and have fun.
We will not tolerate message flooding on our servers, if you have something to say then just say it once, don\'t spam it. Repeated flooding will get you kicked from the server.
Please note this also includes name scripts which place unnecessary demand on the server. PunkBuster will automatically kick players for name flooding on our servers. Also the needless spamming of messages after your name with all the pretty colors will earn you a E ticket to the waiting room ie. KICKED! Your not that important, so get over yourself.
Note that the members of the ¤VM¤ VirtualMercs clan reserve the right to ruin your gaming experience and play with you like a toy if you so choose to violate any of the above mentioned rules. We have numerous devices at our disposal to use upon you. We can simply take your weapons away, put you into a permanent shell shock situation. There are many more annoying tools that can be used to make you learn your lesson. We also will not hesitate to KICK, TEMP BAN or PERMANENTLY BAN you from our servers. Please take the time to understand the above rules. It is your responsibility to read and understand these rules. Simply saying you didn\'t know the existed is not our problem. The fact that they are listed bares your warning.
